Get to know Omar

Hi, my name is Omar, and basketball has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old. From shooting on a mini hoop as a kid to playing on rep teams, academies, and high school squads, basketball has shaped me into the person I am today. My journey includes formal training at Elite Camps Basketball Academy and EABA, where I developed advanced skills and a deep understanding of the game.

Basketball has given me so much—confidence, resilience, teamwork, and joy—and now, I’m passionate about giving back. I started OB Ball to share my love for basketball and to help young players build their skills, find their confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

OB Ball is open to children of all skill levels, preferably ages 5-14. Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or striving to sharpen their technique, I tailor training sessions to meet their unique needs. My sessions focus on:

  • Fundamentals: Dribbling, passing, shooting, and footwork.
  • Basketball IQ: Understanding the game’s flow, decision-making, and teamwork.
  • Confidence and Growth: Building self-esteem on and off the court.

Through fun, engaging, and skill-focused training, my mission is to inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. Basketball is more than a sport; it’s a tool for personal growth, and I’m here to guide them every step of the way. At OB Ball, we tailor every session to meet the skill level of the player. For beginners, the focus is on mastering the basics—such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and footwork—to build a strong foundation for their game. We emphasize proper technique, fun drills, and confidence-building to help them feel comfortable on the court.
For more advanced players, training shifts toward refining skills, increasing speed and accuracy, and developing game strategy. This includes advanced dribbling moves, shooting under pressure, reading defenses, and improving basketball IQ. Each session is designed to challenge players at their level and help them progress to the next stage of their development.

Not at all! OB Ball welcomes players of all skill levels and athletic abilities. Whether your child has never picked up a basketball before or is already competing on a team, we’ll work with them to set realistic goals and build confidence in their abilities. Our program is designed to help everyone improve, regardless of where they’re starting from.

To help teens improve their basketball skills and build confidence, we're creating Basketball Skill Kits. Each kit will include a journal with motivational quotes, challenge cards with at-home drills, a mini basketball, and a jump rope. These portable tools make it easy for teens to practice anywhere, even without full equipment, while encouraging personal growth and a love for the game.
